Weekend Update

This weekend was filled with a lot of rain. Lots and lots of rain. The forecast is predicting a very wet week ahead too.

It did stop raining long enough Saturday evening for the fam to make a trip over to Bay St. Louis to attend the annual Crab Fest.

This event played such a big part in my childhood because it is hosted by the church we attended before Katrina. I have many memories of the whole family working together in the drink booth. It's held every 4th of July weekend on the church grounds, and is one of the most fun things to do on the coast. It specialized in food, fun, and family; three things Mississippians know all about.

I didn't get the signature crab stuffed twice baked potato because the line was too long and I'm now regretting it. But my shrimp po'boy was delicious! It was stuffed full of slightly spicy shrimp and plenty of shredded lettuce. I accompanied it with a nice cold Blue Moon.

This was a perfect summer Mississippi weekend.

Head on over to link up and share your weekend shenanigans.
