Dancing Queen

I posted this picture a few weeks back for Throw Back Thursday and it got so much Instagram love I decided to share it with y'all today.

This is me before my very first dance recital when I was 4. The theme of the recital was The 4 Seasons, and this dancing queen was part of the season of summer.

My class were "Beach Babies" with these old fashion swim suit inspired costumes; I really wish you could fully appreciate how large that pink bow in my hair was. This was one of my favorite costumes I ever had for dance. Obviously how could I not love the pink bows and green polka dots!? I also had a sand bucket and shovel which sadly didn't make it into this photo.

And in case you were wondering I still remember the first step of the dance. This is probably because it was a solo. I skipped out on stage (ALONE!); pretended to test the water; made an exaggerated OK! face to the audience (I always had great stage faces); and then waved the rest of my class on stage.

  1. This is so cute! I remember one dance recital when we were supposed to be chicks or something ridiculous and no one in my class remembered what to do except for me and I was like "GUYS COME ON IT'S UP HERE AND WE DO THIS NOW" right. in. the. middle. of. the. show. I can't believe I ever did that!

I think of every blog post as a conversation. I hope you'll join in and leave a comment so I'm not just talking to myself.
