Weekend Update

I had a glorious long weekend that started on Thursday with a long solo road trip to Nashville!

I spent that 7 hours and 42 minute (okay so maybe I sped a little and made it in closer to 7 hours) jamming out to some Black Keys, Maroon 5, and Taylor Swift. It was seriously such a pretty and easy (all interstate!) drive I didn't even mind that I was alone

Thursday night once I got to my friend's house we went to eat dinner at McAlisters and then met one of her friends from high school at Sweet CeCe's. After that we went back to her house and watched Josie and the Pussycats while we painted our nails.

Friday we slept in and then went for an early lunch at this adorable restaurant called The Puffy Muffin. It is this cute little "ladies lunch" type place with a couple of locations in the Nashville area. I apologize for not having any pictures to share from lunch, but my chicken salad sandwich was too delicious to stop and snap a picture. My only regret was that I was too full to sample a dessert.

Friday afternoon I had my job interview - you know, the whole reason for my trip. I don't want to say too much about it, but I will say that it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I really enjoyed the people I met with, but I left feeling less confident as I would like.

We had thought about going downtown that night after dinner, but decided we didn't really want to deal with the late summer crowds. Instead we stayed in and watched Leap Year and Just My Luck and drank Lemondrop martinis!

Saturday morning I woke up early and hit the road to come back home to Mississippi. I don't really know how but I made it in under 7 hours even with stopping twice.

Sunday was a super rainy day with me only leaving the house to go to church in the morning. I spent the rest of the day catching up on reading the blogs I'd missed from last week.

  1. Even though the job interview did not fully go as you planned, at least it sounded like you had a fun trip!!! Love the martini's you guys made - is that sugar around the rim?!

I think of every blog post as a conversation. I hope you'll join in and leave a comment so I'm not just talking to myself.
