Five on Friday/Backthatazzup

1. being the change
So last week Cosmo published an article online where the author said that being hazed was "weirdly worth it." So obviously that is not okay! I was so enraged by the article that I emailed Cosmo to let them know just how wrong they were. I knew I couldn't just sit there so angry and not do anything, so I decided to be the change. I shared my letter on Facebook Monday in the hope that it would inspire a few more people to write their own to Cosmo. Well it got shared again, and again, and again, about 700 times according to wordpress. I was so touched by everyone's positive feedback not because they were praising me, but because it proved that I wasn't the only one who thinks hazing is disgusting. So if you read Cosmo's article and were equally horrified that they would advocate for hazing I hope you'll send them your own email.

2. GRE
This week I decided that I'm taking the GRE, hopefully before the end of October, so I went and invested in some study flipcards so I can start studying Monday. I've realized that I'll eventually want/need a masters so I should probably just go ahead and take it now. I'm still not 100% sure where that leaves me with my job search though. I'm still applying for full time PR jobs, but I've realized that maybe God's plan is for me to go back to grad school before getting a real job. Anyone have any study aid suggestions? I'm going to need a really good score to get into my first 2 choices of schools.

3. cookies
Y'all know how much I love a simple recipe, well this one is 2 ingredients! I'd seen these pumpkin cookies floating around Pinterest for a while, and I finally decided in the spirit of Fall I just had to try them. Just combine one box spice cake mix and one can pumpkin pie filling and bake at 350 for 12 minutes. You should be able to get 24 out of it. I added chocolate chips to half, but I think I liked the ones without them better. They turned out more cake like than cookies like, so I'm calling them pumpkin spice bites.

That's where a picture of these should be, but my iphoto doesn't always like to play nice, so if you want to see a picture you'll have to head over to my Instagram instead.

4. Oxford
As you're reading this I'm on the road to Oxford! I've seriously gotten sick of being home and desperately needed a change of scenery. So I decided to make a trip up to my favorite small town. It'll be really fun to get to go out and have friends to watch with when the Rebels take on Bama Saturday. I'm staying until Monday morning, so just as an FYI Monday's post (if there is one) will be later in the day once I've gotten back home.

5. one of my favorite road trip songs
I have no shame, Party in the USA is my road trip jam. If you say belting out some Miley while cruising up the interstate isn't fun, well then I simply don't know if we can be friends.

I think of every blog post as a conversation. I hope you'll join in and leave a comment so I'm not just talking to myself.
