Easy-Peasy Orange Dream Cake
(yes, I did make up that name after drinking a margarita)
Seriously this is all you use!
Well plus a can a frosting that I forgot to put in the photo
Take one box of yellow cake mix and dump it in a bowl.
Add one can orange Soda
Mix together
Spray your cake pan with Bakers Joy. This is super important because it will stick if not
Pour the mixture into your pan and bang it on the counter to get out the air bubbles
Bake in the oven per the directions on the cake box. Mine took about 33 minutes
Notice how mine is sunk in the middle? Yeah, I forgot to bang the air bubbles out before baking. Oh yeah and because soda is a main ingredient there are evidently a ton of air bubbles.
Take one can of frosting (I used Betty Crocker whipped cream cheese) and frost the cake taking extra care to add more in the places it sunk.
Slice and enjoy!
Another great thing about this cake is it can be changed up with a variety of cake mixes and soda flavors. Plus supposedly it works with diet soda if you want to cut the calories, but as is it only has 263 calories per piece (when the cake serves 12) which I find very reasonable!
