3 ways to make returning after vacation easier

Is it just me or is returning from vacation the least pleasurable experience in life? You're off having a great time and then all of sudden you're back to real life with all your responsibilities. After my last vacation I really had a hard time adjusting back to real life so I started thinking about ways to make returning after vacation easier and came up with these three ways.

1. Take care of major financial obligations - Do you have rent, car insurance, or utilities due between the time you return after vacation and your next pay check? If so make sure to pay all these large bills before you head out on vacation. Making sure your financial obligations are taken care of means you don't have to worry about how much you're spending on fun dinners or souvenir.

2. Give yourself time - I don't care how good of a plane sleeper you are, you always come back from vacation tired. The best way to make returning after vacation easier is to ensure you set yourself up for a good night's rest before returning to real life. Obviously you can't account for travel delays, something that killed us on my California trip, but when possible making sure you give yourself time to relax and get that full 8 hours will make your life easier.

3. Unpack and get back into your routine right away - Returning after vacation sucks, there's no way around it, but getting back into your everyday routine as quickly as possible makes it easier. There is nothing I hate more than unpacking my bags, so I find ripping that bandaid off and getting it done right away is my best bet. Even if I just unpack and throw everything in the hamper and put the suitcase away I feel like returning after vacation is already easier.

What are your tips to make returning after vacation easier?
