2019 Roundup

I can't believe 2019 is just hours away from coming to an end. I also can't believe just how much I've packed into this year! I know my posts were few and far between this year, but that's because I was too busy living life to blog about it. I thought it'd be fun to do a little 2019 roundup today talking about all the highlights I've had this year!

January started off with sharing my goals for the year. I plan on doing a full 2019 goals recap a little later in the week, but I'd say this year was a huge success! This month I also really kicked off wedding planning when I went to the Dallas Bridal Show with my mom, sister, and MIL.

February's highlight was more fun wedding activities when we took our engagement photos! The month ended with an insane amount of travel when I made 3 trips within 3 weeks! I went to San Diego twice and home to Mississippi once. The San Diego trips were both for work and the Mississippi trip was to watch my dad be crowned king of his Mardi Gras club!

March was spent accepting the fact that we were real deal adults as we finished our house search and put in an offer on our first home! Our buying process was relatively easy, but still exhausting; I can't imagine how people do it who spend months and months looking.

April brought me back to Oxford for the first time since 2014 when I went for a girl's weekend. That same week we closed on our house and my sweet (now) husband handled the first of the move-in solo. I also had my first fly in / fly out same day trip when I spent about 15 hours in Atlanta.

May was spent finishing furnishing our new home! Luckily all our old furniture fit so we only needed to buy new things and not replace any old things. This month I also went back to California for a quick work trip.

June was very exciting as we traveled back to Oxford to watch my brother get married! It was so great seeing so many family members that I hadn't seen in a long time, some in years!

July started by celebrating the husband's birthday and ended by celebrating mine! Also in the middle was another work trip, this time to Chicago and my sweet husband was able to join at the end.

August was when I celebrated my bachelorette weekend! I want to write a full post on it soon, but I decided to keep it low key and went to a cooking school with my mom and sisters to learn to cook fried chicken!

September was when I started my journey of joining Junior League! I'm now an official member and so excited about being part of this organization.

October was wedding month! My wedding day was the best, but after everything that went wrong I'm so excited to be married. We also enjoyed our honeymoon in Washington, DC.

November we drove to my parents' in Mississippi for Thanksgiving. This was the first holiday I'd spent with them since I moved to Colorado in 2015.

December started with a work trip to Las Vegas and then was spent celebrating Christmas in our own home! It was really special to spend our first Christmas as married in our own home. We had fun putting up our Christmas tree and buying outside decorations (that never made it up Opps!) and watching all the holiday movies.

As you can see 2019 was a great year!

What to buy in the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale

Received money gifts this year and not sure how to spend it? Here are some items I'm loving from the current Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale!

I've been on the lookout for some black booties that are easy to slip on and off and these waterproof ones just might be the ones! I sadly don't have anywhere to wear that green dress, but if I had any weddings coming up in the first part of 2020 I'd swoop that beauty up in a heartbeat, and it comes in a few other colors too if jade green isn't your thing. That oatmeal sweater is less than $20! And any of those pink or red sweaters would be perfect for Valentine's Day.

The best holiday movies to stream right now

I can't believe Christmas is just days away! This holiday season has really flown by for me, really the whole year has, but that's another story. Today I wanted to share some of my favorite holiday movies to stream right now. Hopefully you're about to have time off from work when you can relax with your family. And what better way to relax than by streaming some holiday movies!

Disney +
The Santa Claus Movies - These are a favorite in our household! I think my favorite is the second where he finds a wife
Noelle - This one was a little predicable, but really charming; essentially everything you want in a holiday movie
I'll be Home for Christmas - I know I must have seen this one before, but I watched it the other day and couldn't remember any of it.

Netflix
Christmas Inheritance - This is one of my favorite Hallmark style holiday movies. It's full of all that cheesy holiday goodness I want in a movie this time of year
White Christmas - A true holiday classic! If you've never seen this one I can't recommend it enough
Holiday in the Wild - This is a new holiday movie out this year, but it's already become one of my favorites. Again, this is full of that good cheesy holiday goodness

Other favorite holiday movies to look for on tv
The Holiday - Mr. Napkinhead is an international treasure!
Jingle All the Way - This one is so ridiculous in all the right ways
Four Christmases - This is one of my favorite holiday movies! Plus it always makes me really thankful for my family
Elf - The GOAT of holiday movies and there's nothing you can say to change my mind.

What holiday movies are you streaming? And no holiday movie streaming is complete without the perfect hot chocolate!
