About Me

Hey I'm Hill!

This blog started way back in the summer of 2010, but you won't find any of those posts here anymore because I deleted them all when I decided to retry blogging in the summer of 2013. What made me want to start back at this little hobby? The pretty answer is "I wanted a creative outlet where I could express myself daily through my passion of writing." The honest answer is I was little bit depressed and feeling very lost in life.

You see I'd just graduated with a BA in journalism from Ole Miss and had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do. For the past 4 years my life had completely revolved around my sorority and being a college student and now that I had neither of those to fall back on I felt like I had no purpose. I had always been defined by being a good student, but suddenly that meant nothing anymore. The countless jobs I was applying for and subsequently being denied didn't care one bit that I'd managed to maintain a solid GPA while also doubling the size of my sorority as President. So I decided to try the only other thing I felt remotely good at in an effort to stop feeling like a failure and put a spark back in my life by filling the void I'd gained on graduation day.

That's a long way of saying I blog about my life as a 20something. It's not always glamourous, but it's real. What you won't find here are pictures of me wearing designer labels or showcasing ornately furnished rooms. What you will find is a mixture of my random thoughts, wish lists, attempts at Pinterest recipes, and maybe even a playlist or two. Oh and of course about my absolute love for my home state of Mississippi and how much I miss being in college.

Looking for a good place to start? I recommend this post listing a few of my favorite posts or this one explaining the name behind my blog.

I hope you'll stick around and read along as I blog my way through life.

  3. I love Ole Miss! My brother is currently a senior there, and while I love gamedays in Tuscaloosa, there is something about tailgating in the Grove that is unlike any other experience. I'll actually be there in a couple of weeks for the Alabama v Ole Miss game. What sorority were you in?

  6. Hey, I just wanted to say I just recently started following your blog (I found it on another blog when I was creeping for more to read) & I really love it! I recently just started blogging but I was following three before that. I really wanted to find some others to follow that I could really relate to that were more along my lines of common interests & styles of blogging. You and your posts are so down to Earth and relatable. I really enjoy them!
